Waste material and containment must not infiltrate into the subsoil due to its contamination potential.

New technologies develop a lining system using Geosynthetic materials which is impermeable and flexible. There are two Geosynthetic materials that can be applied as lining system: Geomembrane and Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL).
