Vacuum system is one of the soil stabilization methods using vacuum pressure instead of preloading to accelerate the consolidation process without disturbing the surrounding structures of the project. Vacuum systems replace the need for preloads.

Geostructure Vacuum System (GVS)
GVS is a patented soil stabilization method using vacuum pressure instead of preloading to accelerate the consolidation process without disturbing the surrounding structures of the project. Using vacuum pressure in soft soil about 70 kPa (about 4 m high preloading of soil), the pore water pressure decreases very fast and becomes negative, the soft soil consolidate and the strength increase. The system consists of vertical drain, horizontal drain, perforated pipe, PVC sheet, separated tank, submersible pump, and vacuum machine.
